The diesel variant of 2020 Vitara Brezza faces axe from the line-up to make way for the petrol-only Brezza with K15B mild-hybrid engine sourced from Ciaz sedan.

After the successful unveiling of the Vitara Brezza SUV at the Auto Expo 2020, Maruti Suzuki India has now officially pulled the covers off its prices. Presented in five variants namely LXi, VXi, ZXi, ZXi, ZXi+ and ZXi+ dual tone, it is priced between Rs 7.34-11.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Interestingly, the starting price sees a cut of around Rs 29,000 for the base model while, the automatic transmission variants see a hike of Rs 1.0 lakh (approx). As of now, the company has no plans to offer a diesel-powered Maruti Vitara Brezza in the line-up. It will compete with the likes of Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Ford Ecosport, Mahindra XUV300 and upcoming Kia Sonet.

In addition to the LXi variant price reduction of about Rs 29000 and Rs 1 lakh+ increase in the VXi AT variant, the price of the top-spec manual trim is raised by nearly Rs 12000 and the mid variants come with a climb of Rs 21000 (approx). New Vitara Brezza is offered with three dual-tone shades namely Sizzling Red with Midnight Black roof, Torque Blue with Midnight Black roof and Granite Grey with Autumn Orange roof along with six single colour choices.
All New Vitara Brezza Specifications & Mileage
Powering the new Maruti compact SUV is the tried and tested 1.5L K15B BSVI compliant petrol engine that is also seen on Maruti Ciaz, Maruti Ertiga and Maruti XL6. The engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual as well as a 4-speed automatic transmission setup with mild-hybrid (SHVS) tech. This engine makes a maximum power of 105PS (15PS higher than the 1.3L diesel) and 138Nm (62Nm less than the 1.3L diesel) of peak torque respectively.
Maruti Vitara Brezza gets an ARAI certified fuel economy of 17.03 kmpl for the manual gearbox variant and 18.76 kmpl for the automatic transmission unit. On the other side, the now discontinued diesel-powered variant commanded a certified mileage of 24.3 kmpl, which is 6 kmpl higher than the latest petrol unit.
2020 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Exteriors, Interiors & Features
On the exteriors, the 2020 Brezza appears similar to its predecessor model. The major changes include outside include restyled front grille with twin slat chrome inserts, dual LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, beefy front bumper with rugged-looking faux skid plate and fog lamp housing. Other changes comprise of a newly designed 10-spoke alloy wheels, sleeker tail light cluster and a fresh rear bumper.
On the inside too, nothing much has been modified, besides the updated infotainment system with Smartplay studio that continues to support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other attributes in the cabin include 17.78cm touchscreen display, steering mounted controls with cruise control, 4 side door speakers, electric ORVMs, start/stop engine switch, rear parking sensors auto-dimming IRVMs and many more.
Safety gear list comprises of ABS with EBD, dual airbag, reverse parking camera, hill hold assist, rear wiper and washer, central locking all 5 doors, dual horn and others.
