The ES is one of the most well-known sedans in the world and it has played a crucial role in Lexus’ history. When the manufacturer made its global debut in 1989, it was also one of the first automobiles to be presented with the LS model. The ES has steadily grown into a contemporary executive luxury sedan over the last few decades, as seen by its seven generation cycles. However, Lexus has introduced a revised ES in India, with two models starting at Rs 56.65 lakh (ex-showroom). We’ll tell you all you need to know about this new luxury sedan right here.
Lexus is recognized for employing an unorthodox design concept in each of its vehicles, and as a result, they stand apart. The ES is no exception. It has a brushed aluminium frame and a redesigned huge spindle grille with a new mesh-patterned appearance.
The ES also has triple-beam LED headlights with BladeScan and Adaptive High-Beam System for the first time (AHS). There is also V-shaped daytime running lights with sharp points. Lexus has also produced new elegant 18-inch alloy wheels for the saloon, which provide a sophisticated touch to the vehicle. Aside from that, the ES retains its curvy rear end and updated L-shaped LED taillights. It also comes in two new color schemes: Sonic Chrome and Sonic Iridium.
It has high-grade semi-aniline leather upholstery on the interior, which comes in two colors: Hazel and Black. A new Walnut open-pore finish trim is now available. A seven-inch TFT digital instrument cluster and a slightly inclined 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen are included in the interior. Furthermore, Lexus has added a layer of glass to the new ES to increase the operation of both screens.
Taking the next step Lexus has included electric assist and heating features in the back seats, in addition to electrically adjustable front seats with heated and ventilated functions. The front co-passenger seat, however, may likewise be adjusted forward or rearward from the back.
The ES is the carmaker’s entry-level sedan, but it comes with a number of upgrades, including a revised suspension and other mechanicals for improved driving characteristics.
Ten airbags, tire pressure monitoring with auto location, vehicle stability control, hill start assist, ISOFIX mounts, a 17-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound system, rear-window sun blinds, three-zone temperature control with nanoeX air purifier, color heads-up display, electric parking brake, paddle shifters, electric-assist steering, a wireless charging pad, and a wireless charging pad are among the key features of the saloon.
Transmission and Engine
The ES features a 2,487cc in-line four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 176bhp and 221Nm of torque and is connected to an e-CVT automatic transmission.
It also has a hybrid system that includes a battery pack and a motor-generator. The combined power of the electric system and the engine is 215bhp.
