Toyota Fortuner facelift gets a new fascia, new infotainment and comes with a more powerful engine.
For a long time, the popular SUV, Toyota Fortuner was yearning for a major revamp and the company has finally met the expectations of the auto-enthusiasts. Toyota has unveiled the facelifted Toyota Fortuner in Thailand. The news delights the SUV fanatics and all those who are planning to buy a new SUV in India in the year 2021.

Toyota Fortuner 2021 gets exterior changes
On the exterior, the Toyota Fortuner facelift gets many notable changes, especially on the fascia. It gets revamped LED headlamps that also house LED DRLs, a bigger mesh-pattern grille, redesigned front bumper and all-new 18-inches alloy wheels. The rear gets new slimmer LED taillamps.
The ‘Legender’ trim sits as the top-end choice among the Fortuner facelift trims and receives more sportier design. It gets an all-new split grille, a new front bumper that houses LED turn indicators, dual LED projector headlamps with unique pattern for LED DRLs, a gloss-black finish that replaces the chrome, bigger 20-inch alloy wheels, dual-tone color schemes and gloss-black impressions on the rear bumper and boot lid.
Toyota Fortuner 2021 gets interior changes
Inside, the design isn’t much revised in the 2020 Toyota Fortuner facelift, however something new to notice is the new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment that is now compatible with Apple CarPlay. New things you’ll like in the facelifted Fortuner are wireless charging, 8-way electric-adjustable driver and co-driver seats and slightly revised instrument cluster. Additionally, it gets 9-speaker JBL sound system, 360-degree camera and LED ambient lighting. The ‘Legender’ variant of the Fortuner facelift gets 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment, 7-airbags, lane departure warning, collision prevention system, radar-guided dynamic cruise control, etc.
Toyota Fortuner 2021 engine revision
Under the hood, the Fortuner 2021 unveiled in Thailand gets a major update. The 2.4-litre 4-pot diesel engine continues churning maximum power of 150 hp and maximum torque of 400 Nm, but the 2.8-litre diesel engine, popular in India, becomes more powerful and is capable of producing peak power of 204 hp, as compared to the current model’s 177 hp peak power. Besides this, it also produces a peak torque of 500 Nm, which is 50 Nm more as compared to the current Toyota Fortuner automatic.
2021 Toyota Fortuner Facelift Expected Launch
You can certainly expect that when the 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift is launched in India, it will be more expensive than its current model, which is available at the starting price of Rs 28.66 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Fanatics shouldn’t expect the launch of Toyota Fortuner anytime sooner as it is anticipated to launch in 2021. Recently, there has been a revision in Toyota Fortuner’s prices, wherein the available variants have become expensive by Rs 48,000. Before the 2021 Toyota Fortuner would hit the Indian markets, Toyota will introduce a limited edition of this SUV, which will get more features as compared to the current model.
