Unveiled at Auto Expo 2020, Renault Triber, the affordable MPV gets the convenience of the automatic transmission.
Renault has unveiled the automatic version of its Triber MPV at the 2020 Auto Expo in Greater Noida. There is no word on the price yet, but expect the AMT version to be approximately Rs 30,000 dearer than its manual counterparts. There is no visible differentiation in the manual and AMT versions except for the AMT (Easy-R) badge at the rear. It continues with the same 1.0-litre engine.
The Renault Triber is an economical seven-seater MPV which comes with modest styling and premium cabin. The MPV is expected to be available soon in the showrooms. We believe French automaker would be launching it in multiple variants to give more options for buyers.
Even the cabin of the Triber AMT looks the same as the manual Renault Triber. Unexpectedly, it ditches the rotary dial of the Renault Kwid automatic for a gear stick of its elder sibling Renault Duster automatic. It continues to feature a dual-tone theme (black and white) with fabric upholstery and modular 3rd-row seats with EASYFIX function.
Under its short hood, the Renault Triber AMT employs the same 1.0-litre petrol motor which generates max power of 61 bhp and 96 Nm of max torque. It comes mated to the 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) unit.
Meanwhile, Renault had updated the 1.0-litre petrol motor of the Triber a couple of weeks back to comply with the BS6 emission norms. There was a marginal price hike across the variants. The price of the manual Renault Triber falls in the bracket of Rs 4.99 lakh – Rs 6.78 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).
The Renault MPV competes against the likes of Datsun Go Plus and Maruti Ertiga in the multi-purpose van category.
