Engine & Transmission:
Under the hood, the C3 Aircross houses either PureTech Petrol (110 and 130) or a BlueHDi Diesel (110) engine.
PureTech is a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine available in 2 tunings of 109 bhp/ 205 Nm and 129 bhp/ 230 Nm. It is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard and an optional six-speed automatic transmission.
BlueHDi diesel can generate 99 bhp of power, and 250 Nm of torque and gets a six-speed manual gearbox. The diesel variant does not get an automatic option.
There is no four-wheel-drive option with the C3 Aircross as well. However, you get a Grip Control switchable traction control system that will help you navigate rougher terrains with much more ease.
Reviews from Europe say that the C3 Aircross does not really handle off-roading well as it was not designed for that purpose. The Grip Control System is a compensatory feature that acts as an advanced stability programme including a hill descent feature to help with steep slopes.
The diesel variant of the C3 Aircross offers the best fuel economy. Meanwhile, the petrol engines even if they don’t match the diesel’s figures give consumers a pretty good deal.
|C3 Aircross Variants||Fuel Economy||CO2 Emissions|
|Diesel variant||67.2 mpg||123 g/km|
|109 bhp Petrol variant||51.5 mpg||134 g/km|
|129 bhp Petrol variant||47.3 mpg||140 – 158 g/km|
Citroen C3 Aircross engines are some of the best you could get out there. Even their lowest variant in terms of fuel economy is a better choice than other models out there.
The price of the C3 Aircross begins from 20,075 Pounds (19.05 Lakh approx.) and goes up to 23,815 Pounds (22.6 Lakh approx.).
