Ford Aspire Variants Comparison – Know Which Trim of this Compact Sedan is Best For You

Looking to buy the Ford Aspire but unable to take a decision on the variant? Read this Ford Aspire variants comparison to find the perfect trim for yourself.

Ford has been in the Indian car market for a long time now and one of the most ‘iconic’ vehicles it produced for the market was the Ford Ikon. It was a huge hit when it was launched and helped the brand in establishing their image. Ford Ikon was a family sedan and was well-liked by the population but the success was short-lived as the rivals came up with better alternatives. Sedans have never been the strong point for Ford but with an untapped market segment for the automaker, it had to develop a product to ensure profit maximization. This is where the Ford Aspire comes in, it is a compact sedan which again became fairly popular due to the powertrain, features and affordability. However, it might be difficult to choose from the existing variants and that is where we come in.

Powertrain Specifications

Ford Aspire

Variants Engine Transmission Power (bhp) Torque (nm)
Titanium Diesel 1.5-litre Diesel 5-Speed M 98 215
Titanium Plus Diesel 1.5-litre Diesel 5-Speed M 98 215
Titanium Petrol 1.2-litre Petrol 5-Speed M 95 119
Titanium Plus Petrol 1.2-litre Petrol 5-Speed M 95 119

One of the biggest USPs for the Ford Aspire are the engine options it comes with. The diesel and petrol powertrain are arguably the best in the segment and produce more than enough performance to put a smile on your face. If fuel economy is your biggest priority, then the diesel engine would be the better choice. Nonetheless, both the engines are supremely capable and extremely fun to drive.

Price List

Variants Price (ex-showroom)
Titanium Diesel Rs 8.38 Lakhs
Titanium Plus Diesel Rs 8.73 Lakhs
Titanium Petrol Rs 7.28 Lakhs
Titanium Plus Petrol Rs 7.63 Lakhs

Another USP for the Ford Aspire is the pricing of this compact sedan. It has been priced reasonably to sit in the compact sedan segment and some hatchbacks have been priced over and above. People with a slightly lower budget can also afford to upgrade from a hatchback to switch to a compact sedan which will offer them more usability.

When it comes to safety features, there are a few hits and misses for the Ford Aspire. The good thing is that the upper variants get 6 airbags but there are a few misses too. Automatic headlamps, follow me home headlamps and ISOFIX child seat mounts are missing on every variant which is a bit disappointing. These are essential safety features which should have been incorporated in the upper variants at least. On the safety front, Ford should include more features to make it a better deal.

Automatic Climate Control No Yes No Yes
Rear AC Vents No No No No

From the above table, one can derive that the only difference in the variants of the Ford Aspire is the addition of automatic climate control in the upper variants, everything else is the same. It is a good thing that all the variants get uniform features so that the customers can choose a variant without a bias but there are a few omissions which should have been included, like rear AC vents and cruise control. These are some features which cars a segment below are equipped with and Ford should rectify this in order to maximize sales.

Entertainment and Interior

Height Adjustable Driver Seat Yes Yes Yes Yes
Touchscreen 7-inch 7-inch 7-inch 7-inch

There are not many interior and connectivity features on offer for the Ford Aspire and the list seems obsolete and dated. It misses out leather seats, leather steering wheel, android auto and apple carplay which are some of the necessary features nowadays. Ford should equip the Aspire with some of the omitted features to make it an appealing buy for the customers.

Conclusion

Ford Aspire is a compact sedan which promises a lot to the buyers at an affordable price. It comes with two great engine options, a petrol and a diesel which are extremely fun to drive. These engines are a boon to drive in the city and on the highway, which enhances their overall versatility. However, Ford Aspire misses out on some basic features which cars from a segment below possess and this is something which Ford should rectify. Considering all the aspects, the most value for money variants turn out to be Titanium (Diesel and Petrol) as it gets almost the same features which the top variants get at a lower price.
