The rear of the Elantra looks imposing. It gets a large boot lid which accentuates the whole design of the car. The taillights are LED units which look sharp and modern. Hyundai has done an impeccable job on the interior front. The cabin looks and feels sophisticated and premium with soft touch materials present in abundance. Plastic quality inside the cabin is good too with soft touch plastics used everywhere. However, the lower part of the dashboard has some hard plastics which is acceptable. The interior feels well-built, along with the 8-inch infotainment screen sitting smartly in the center.  The seats offer incredible support and are well cushioned. They will keep the person fresh even after long journeys. Also, the seats are electrically adjustable and ventilated too. It gets an orthodox instrument cluster with analogue dials for the speedometer and tachometer, along with a multi-information display between them.

The list includes powered boot, dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents, ventilated seats, electrically adjustable seats with lumbar support, cruise control, smart access card entry, keyless entry, push button start, voice commands, hands-free tailgate, leatherette upholstery, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear selector, dual-tone dashboard and an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Overall, the Elantra has a feature loaded interior with plush materials used.

Performance and Ride Quality

Hyundai Elantra comes with two engine options, a diesel and a petrol. Talking about the diesel first, it is a 1.5-litre unit which produces 113 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. The performance from this engine is brisk and it was supreme driveability. This engine does not feel lethargic or underpowered and is great for city as well as highway duties. The refinement from this engine is good too along with the well-insulated cabin.

Coming to the petrol, it is a 2.0-litre unit which produces 150 bhp and 192 nm of torque. This is a very refined engine and feels good to drive. The performance is linear and gives the best driving experience when driven sedately. The engine has ample power for city as well as highway runs and does not feel underpowered. Overall, if you are looking for an economical option, then the diesel engine is the one to go for. However, if refinement is your priority, then the petrol engine will do a supreme job.

Elantra Interior

The rear seat experience inside the Elantra is comfortable. The seats are comfortable and offer great cushioning. Kneeroom is available in abundance, however, headroom could be a problem for taller passengers due to the coupe like design. The seating position is quite low which might hamper under-thigh support. Rear AC vents go a long way in aiding comfort at the rear. The ride quality on the Elantra is plush. It gobbles up and bumps and potholes with relative ease and isolates the passengers quite well. Overall, the experience inside the cabin of the Elantra is comfortable and sophisticated along with a luxurious touch.
