Mahindra XUV700 – Up to 21 months
Mahindra’s XUV700 is currently priced at Rs 13.18 Lakh – Rs 24.58 Lakh (ex-showroom price). It is currently ranking high among the hottest models in its segment. Offered with both petrol and diesel powertrains, the XUV700 has been in high demand ever since its launch. It still continues to be on top of the waiting list as well as some of the XUV700 variants take up to 21 months for delivery. That is almost 2 years!
Even with the long waiting period, the model continues to be a constant favourite among Indians because of its style, performance and all the advanced features it offers.
Kia Carens – Up to 18 months
The South Korean automaker’s most successful model in India, the Kia Carens is next in line with the second-highest waiting period. Carens is a 6 or 7-seater MUV that is being offered in 19 variants. Kia offers petrol and diesel choices in engines and both manual and automatic transmissions along with them.
Variants like the 1.4L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel variants take up to 8 months while to 1.5L NA Petrol variants take 18 months for delivery. However, this has not brought down the demand for Carens in any way.
Maruti Ertiga – Up to 9 months
Maruti Suzuki gave its top-selling model, Ertiga, a facelift this year. It received a lot more CNG kits on variants than was on offer in the previous version. Other than the CNG version, Ertiga comes with a 1.5L Petrol engine as standard. While the petrol variants take up to 4 months for delivery now, the CNG variants are in much higher demand with almost a 9-month waiting period.
Hyundai Creta – Up to 6 months
Creta is the model with the highest waiting period from Hyundai. Creta also offers both petrol and diesel variants all of which are equally popular in the Indian market. As a high-selling mid-size SUV, the waiting periods vary from 10 to 30 weeks depending on the variant. The waiting periods have also increased by 4 – 6 weeks from May 2022 for more than a few models.

Toyota Fortuner – Up to 4 months
Toyota Fortuner has been performing consistently since its launch decades ago. Sales have stayed on top even for the outgoing version of the Fortuner. Even with the high price tag, the demands are high for the Fortuner going up to 4 months.
Hyundai Alcazar – Up to 20 weeks
Hyundai Alcazar is offered in 8 different trims and with both petrol and diesel engine options. The current ex-showroom price for the variants of Alcazar ranges between Rs 16.44 Lakh and Rs 20.25 Lakh. The petrol variants of Alcazar have a waiting period of 4- 10 weeks while the diesel variants take up to 14 weeks.

Hyundai i20 is sold at a starting price of Rs 7 Lakh and goes up to Rs 11.53 Lakh (ex-showroom price). It is offered in 19 variants and with 3 engine options. The waiting period for i20 was at 20 weeks last month. This month it has come down to a maximum of 12 weeks for the DCT variants.
