Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition Launched in India

  • Kia has launched the new Sonet Anniversary Edition to celebrate a successful year of sales and its first anniversary in India.

  • The new anniversary edition is priced between Rs 10.79 lakh to Rs 11.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

  • Available only as Limited Edition, the Sonet Anniversary Edition will be in the market till March 2023.

The anniversary edition of Sonet is based on the concept of Aurochs and boasts a muscular look, offering a bolder and premium driving experience to customers.

Similar to Seltos, Sonet’s Anniversary Edition also gets similar design and feature updates. It is now offered in four paint shades.

  • Gravity Grey
  • Silver Steel
  • Glacier White Pearl

“The Sonet has been one of our breakthrough products that have contributed to Kia’s success in India. With sales of more than one lakh units in less than a year, the Sonet has already established itself as one of India’s highest-selling compact SUVs. To celebrate this adoration, we are excited to launch the anniversary edition of the Sonet,” Kia India MD and CEO Tae-Jin Park commented to the press in a statement.

Kia’s new Anniversary Edition of Sonet comes with four different powertrain options and choices for both manual and automatic transmissions. The petrol trims cost ₹10.79 lakh and ₹11.49 lakh while the diesel variants are ₹11.09 lakh and ₹11.89 lakh each.

Exteriors:

Sonet Anniversary Edition comes with its signature Tiger nose Grille with Tangerine Accents. In addition, it has Auroch front and rear skid plates, centre wheel caps matching with the new colour accents. All these contribute to the wild and muscular, beastly look of the Sonet.

Interiors:

Sonet AE has a Leatherette wrapped D-cut steering wheel with Sonet logo, and is equipped with ADAS. An 8.0-inch touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is another attraction inside the car. Besides this, the car also comes with multi-drive modes – Normal, Eco and Sports.

Safety Features:

Sonet Anniversary Edition is loaded with abundant safety features. It gets Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake Distribution, Brake Assist, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), HAC (Hill-start Assist Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), ISO FIX child anchor seats, etc. You will love its speed and impact sensing door lock feature and would even applaud features such as projector fog lamps, rear parking sensors and auto headlamps.

Engine Options:

Both 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel, same as the regular HTX variant are available with the Anniversary Edition. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine produces 120hp and 172Nm of torque and comes mated to either a 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT gearbox.

Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 100hp and 240Nm of peak torque with a 6-speed manual transmission. The same engine, when paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, produces 115hp of peak power and 250Nm of peak torque.
