Kia entered India with its compact SUV Seltos in August 2020, with a quick succession by its Sonet in September 2020. This year Kia not only celebrates its 1 year anniversary but also a great market success in its segment.
Sonet has sold a whole of 1 lakh units since its launch. Following this, Kia is set to launch Sonet’s 1-year anniversary edition this festive season, in just a few weeks. The leaked brochure of the anniversary edition has revealed details prior to its launch.
Sonet new edition is set to be released with four different colour options namely:
- Aurora Black Pearl
- Gravity Grey
- Silver Steel
- Glacier White Pearl
This is expected to be a limited edition variant of Sonet and only to be on sale till the March of 2022. It is also likely based on the HTX variant.
The new edition will receive some minor tweaks while remaining similar to its parent model. The leaked brochure showed Sonet’s exteriors with new Auroch front skid plates with Tangerine Orange accents, a new emblem and Kia’s characteristic Tiger nose Grille with matching same Tangerine Orange accents.
Not mentioning the new Tangerine colour accents, the interior of the Sonet remains almost the same. It has a similar leatherette steering wheel and gear knob, rear seat adjustable headrest, cruise control, remote engine start, LED front and rear DRLs, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, projector fog lamps and auto LED headlamps.
The engine for the new Sonet Limited Edition will be a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine paired with a 6-speed iMT unit or a 7-speed DCT unit, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual unit or a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit.
