Land Rover has unveiled a special edition of its Defender V8 SUV called Defender Bond, to capitalize on the hype surrounding the latest James Bond flick, No Time to Die. The world’s most beloved spy has driven many vehicles throughout his career but has always been associated with Aston Martin sports cars. Nevertheless, Land Rover SUVs have appeared in several Bond films. The Defender Bond Edition, which is being produced by SV Bespoke, will only be available in 300 units around the world.
The Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition is available in 90 (three-door) and 110 (five-door) versions, and it has the same look as the Defender SUVs seen in Bond’s debut movie. This Bond Edition is equipped with 22-inch black alloy wheels and Xenon blue brake callipers as well as 007 badging. There’s also lettering on the illuminated running board, while the Pivi Pro infotainment system gets home screen 007; each vehicle also has 007 puddle lights and laser numbering.
Mechanically, the Bond Edition is nearly identical to the standard Land Rover Defender V8, including all 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol that makes 525 horsepower and 625 Nm of torque. Defender V8 90 is claimed to reach 100 kmph in just 5.2 seconds with a top speed of 240 kmph. This is the fastest Defender ever produced.
Availability of the Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition to buyers in India has yet to be confirmed. The 300 cars that were produced are not currently available for purchase. In regards to the movie, No Time to Die is set to premiere in theatres worldwide on 30 September 2021.
