Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing up to launch the new Neo model of its Bolero SUV in the country this month. This model is essentially the facelifted model of TUV300 which was discontinued in April 2020. The automaker has teased few short videos on its social media handles demonstrating its features and hinting at its arrival later this month. Here’s what we have gathered for you.
The teasers shared by the company gives a glimpse for what the car has in store that is different from its forerunner. Neo flaunts a boxy stance with heavy bonnet, chrome-finished six-slat grille with larger air-intakes. It also encompasses fog lamps, revised taillamps, roof rails(optional), ORVMs & 5-spoke alloy wheels. The headlamp cluster gets a sleek DRL, running horizontally above the halogen light.
Refreshed interiors starting with dual-tone dashboard and new quilted seats with diamond texture & beige upholstery, this machine has impressive interior features. Laced with armrest and headrest for the second-row seats and power windows, it will also feature a digital MID between the speedometer and the tachometer. Neo also comes equipped with a touchscreen infotainment console with support for the better connectivity features.
ENGINE AND SAFETY
In terms of powertrain, Bolero Neo is expected to run on BS6-compliant 1.5-liter diesel engine that currently fuels the XUV300. The engine can churn out 114bhp along with 300Nm of torque. The engine is said to be coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox for transmission function.
For safety, multiple airbags, parking sensors, crash sensors, and ABS with EBD is said to be available.
Mahindra will most likely announce the official price of the Bolero Neo SUV at the launch event, which is likely to happen in the near future. Considering its features and specifications, auto experts are estimating its ex-showroom price to be around Rs 8.5 lakh.
The new Mahindra is about to enter highly competitive and popular segment in the Indian market. Post launch, it will be wrangling with the Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, Hyundai Venue, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Vitara Brezza, and Renault Kiger.
