Mahindra XUV300 Petrol AMT Launch in India 

Mahindra & Mahindra has introduced new AMT variants for its petrol-driven Mahindra XUV300 models. The new AutoShift gearbox is offered with two petrol trims, W6 and W8 (O), and is priced at Rs 9.95 lakh and Rs 11.76 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The bookings of the 6-speed Mahindra XUV300 AMT AutoShift are on, while deliveries will begin from mid-February. In addition to the AMT, the SUV major has also equipped its top-spec variant with some plush features.

The 6-speed AMT was already doing its duties on the 1.5L diesel engine variants since July 2019. The manual transmission-equipped W6 is retailed at Rs 9.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and W8 (O) is priced at Rs 11.12 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). There is a difference of Rs 55,000 (W6) and Rs 64,000 (W8 (O)) if the buyer opts for the AMT petrol variants over the manual ones. Besides the AMT choice, the new variants also receive an electric sunroof and new BlueSense Plus connected tech. Moreover, the W8 (O) AMT also features a new paint scheme of dual-tone red and dual-tone aquamarine.

The petrol-powered AMT is packed with 1.2L turbo-petrol engine that gives of 110PS of maximum power and 200Nm of peak torque. The AutoShift mechanism offers elements such as auto mode, manual mode, creep function (1-pedal drive), ESC, hill start assist, kick downshifts, adaptive pedal response, tap to switch drive and reverse lockout.

Speaking on the launch of XUV300 petrol AutoShift AMT, Veejay Nakra, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., said “The young Indian consumer doesn’t like to compromise and seeks technology-led convenience and experiences. Today, we launch our innovative auto transmission AutoShift on petrol, which uses advanced technology to offer an effortless drive in city drive as well as on the highways. We also introduce today the BlueSense Plus, our connected SUV technology with more than 40 features that will seamlessly integrate the XUV300 into the always-connected world of today’s consumer. We are glad to introduce electric sunroof right from the mid-variants of the XUV300,” he further added.

Moreover, the BlueSense Plus tech made available in W8 (O) offers as many as 40+ features, which include remote vehicle control, location-based services, safety and security information, vehicle service alerts and several in-car controls.

With petrol AMT in, the Mahindra XUV300 now competes with the likes of Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Kia Sonet, and others.
