The Mahindra XUV300 got an overwhelming response by the young audience of the country. The under-4m compact SUV features solid specs, high-end equipment list, class-leading safety, and many segment-first features, making it a worthy contender in its segment. Priced just right, the 5-seater SUV comes in four variants – W4, W6, W8, and W8 (O) – and is offered in petrol and diesel fuel choices with manual and automatic gearbox options.
Mahindra XUV300 Prices
The XUV300 is priced between Rs 7.95 – 12.30 lakh. The petrol manual version is offered in the range of Rs 7.94 – 11.11 lakh. The diesel manual on the other end comes between Rs 8.69 – 11.89 lakh. Moreover, the AMT equipped trim is only made available with diesel-powered variants starting from Rs 10.19 going up to Rs 12.29 lakh.

Mahindra XUV300 Engine & Performance
The XUV300 is presented with petrol as well as diesel fuel options. Its 1.2L turbo-petrol engine generates 110PS of maximum power and 200Nm of peak torque. Whereas the diesel alternate, the 1.5L engine produces top power of 117PS and highest torque of 300Nm. Diesel-powered engines get gearbox choices of 6-speed MT and 6-speed AMT, while petrol variants come mated to a 6-speed MT. Both are frugal, however, among the two the diesel feels punchier at high speeds.
Mahindra XUV300 Exterior & Dimensions
The XUV300 is endowed with an aggressive front with broad bonnet-line. Echoing the elder sibling Mahindra XUV500 receives chrome slats and slim grille. The sharp treatment of LED DRLs and headlights provide it with a unique emergence in the segment.
The side profile has a sturdy looking A-pillar and roofline. It also gets sporty roof rail and diamond-cut alloy wheels.
The rear of XUV300 is premium and rugged at the same time with high positioned tail lamps with LEDs. Mahindra’s compact SUV stretches 3995mm, 1821mm and 1627mm for length, width and height respectively. Likewise, the boot space stands at 259L and wheelbase reads a good 2600mm.
Mahindra XUV300 Interiors & Features
The capacious cabin feels slightly more upmarket than the XUV500. The two-tone theme inside is done neatly and offers plushness. The smartly designed steering wheel, gear stick and simple instrument counts for the driver convenience, while the centre console is kept simple. The rear seats offer adequate ease to the passengers with enough headroom and legroom comfort.
Making life comfortable inside are features like the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), powered sunroof, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, auto AC, reverse parking camera, 6-way driver seat height adjust, heated ORVMs, etc.
Mahindra XUV300 Safety
For safety, the Mahindra subcompact SUV gets seven airbags, ESP with roll-over mitigation, ABS with EBD, front parking sensors, hill start assist, corner braking control and many more.
The XUV300 has proven itself at the Global NCAP crash test results and has scored 5 out of 5 stars for adult protection and 4 out of 5 for child protection.
The XUV 300 competes with the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport from the old pool along with latest kids on the block – Kia Sonet and Toyota Urban Cruiser. Although the competition is fierce, Mahindra XUV 300 manages to tick all the right boxes to claim for a value for money under-4m SUV.
