Tata Motors has appointed Marc Llistosella as its new CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and MD (Managing Director), effective from 1st of July, 2021. N Chandrasekaran, who is the Chairman for Tata Motors Limited said that he is very happy to welcome Marc to Tata Motors Group, as he holds great experience in automotive business leadership with profound knowledge and virtuosity in Commercial Vehicle over his eminent career and has great deal of experience in India.
Marc is an experienced automotive executive who has a long track record in greenfield projects, turnaround management and leading organizations as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
Marc Llisotsella previously, was the president and CEO of Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, also he has been the MD and CEO of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd. Llistosella has built a greenfield organisation and developed business unit to sell and produce trucks. He was the person behind the launch of BharatBenz in 2012 that became a successful brand in such a short span of time for Daimler.
Llisotsella profound experience in directing business and running sales, marketing, network management and strategic planning is going to empower Tata Motors’ Indian business to level up their game. Marc Llisotsella said that he is very thrilled to be a part of the Tata family, as over so many years he has bonded quite well with Indian automotive market and now he is ready to rise the potential of Tata Motors in this new journey.
Guenter Butschek who was also the former Airbus CEO, was appointed as the CEO of Tata Motors in 2016 will be relocated to Germany. He will continue to be the MD and CEO of Tata Motors till 30th June 2021 as said by the company in the regulatory filing.
