The facelifted S-Cross was a comprehensive update and instantly became a head-turner. The front became more SUV like with bold elements, a new toothed chrome grille and new LED projector headlights. The front became more aggressive and proportionate. The toothed chrome grille was the stand out element that enhanced the character of the vehicle and making it look premium. Overall, the front became mature which appealed to the Indian market.

Maruti Suzuki S-Cross was pretty much unchanged from the side. Some minor body cladding was added to give it the SUV appeal but it adhered to the crossover look. The 16-inch diamond-cut alloys gave the vehicle a premium touch, complementing the proportionate looks. The S-Cross looks sedate, simple and classy from the side.

Just like the sides, the rear too went through some minor tweaks. The new set of LED taillights looked sharp and increased the modern appeal of the vehicle. Interior and Features

Talking about the interior, it is a step above the other Maruti cars on sale in India. The S-Cross features an all-black cabin, but a dual-tone option would’ve been a nice touch. There are some soft-touch materials inside the cabin, however, hard plastics are present in the majority. The fit and finish and overall quality are great and superior to other Maruti cars in the line-up. The 7-inch touchscreen is surrounded by gloss black elements, along with silver accents around the AC vents. Seats on the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross are supremely comfortable with phenomenal cushioning and support. Long journeys would not be tiring in this car. It gets leather-wrapped steering with mounted audio and cruise control buttons.

S Cross Interior

The instrument cluster houses two analogue dials for the speedometer and tachometer, along with a digital multi-information display in the middle. Maruti has equipped the S-Cross generously catering to the needs of the people buying the premium crossover. The list includes automatic climate control, keyless entry, push-button start, adjustable steering, cruise control, voice commands, hands-free tailgate, leather upholstery, automatic headlamps, automatic wipers and much more. Maruti Suzuki S-Cross has an impressive interior with superior quality levels when compared to other Maruti cars. It gets ample features but misses out on a sunroof, wireless charging and rear AC vents. Overall, the interior of the S-Cross is a good place to be in with almost all the bells and whistles.

Performance and Ride Quality

Earlier versions of the S-Cross were offered with two diesel engine options. Maruti has now discontinued diesel engines and removed them from their portfolio. The new S-Cross comes with a 1.5-litre petrol engine which churns out 103 bhp and 138 nm of torque. This engine comes paired to a 5-speed MT or a torque converter AT. This engine is very refined and has a linear power delivery. It has adequate power for city driving and performs beautifully on the highway. The vehicle does not feel underpowered at any given moment. The feel and feedback from the steering are adequate as well, it is light at low city speeds and weighs up nicely as the speed increases.

The S-Cross has an impressive rear seat. It has an ample amount of kneeroom and headroom, along with adequate under-thigh support. The rear seats have proper cushioning but the vehicle is not wide enough to seat three adults in comfort. It is best suited for four adults and a child. Maruti Suzuki S-Cross has a very matured ride quality. It gobbles up potholes and bumps with relative ease with only the sharpest ones making their way into the cabin. It has a composed ride at triple-digit speeds which makes it a formidable highway cruiser. Overall, the driving dynamics of the S-Cross are impressive and the frugal characteristics will appeal to the Indian consumer.


Maruti has equipped the S-Cross with ample safety features. The list includes ABS with EBD, brake assist, child safety locks, two airbags, anti-theft alarm, cruise control, reverse parking camera with rear sensors, side and front impact beams, crash sensor, engine immobilizer, ISOFIX child seat mounts and hill assist.
