Mercedes Benz recently launched the AMG GLE 63 S Coupe and we couldn’t be more excited! Available at a whopping Rs 2.07 Crore, the New Mercedes AMG GLE 63 S is crowned at the top of the GLE line and is the 12th AMG model from the German automotive brand. The much hyped-up launch is a follow-up of the AMG E53 and E63 S launch solidifying the brand’s commitment to its AMG Offensive technology for India. The New Mercedes AMG GLE 63 S justifies its reputation as the most powerful sibling in the GLE AMG line of models with its high-performance engine and powerful transmission. Equipped with the AMG twin-turbocharged, 4.0-litre V8 Petrol Engine, coupled with a 48V starter-alternator. The powerful engine promises 612hp of maximum power and 850Nm of torque in the car’s top trim- the 63 S Guise. The high-performance SUV can roar up from 0-100 kmph in 3.8 seconds, earning it the title of the Fastest SUV Coupe in the Mercedes-Benz India’s SUV segment. The engine is teamed up with AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G Transmission.

Another Stunningly unique feature that the new Mercedes Coupe gets is the feature-first 48-Volt EQ Boost Hybrid System. You heard that right! The 4.0-litre Biturbo V8 Petrol is integrated with an EQ Boost starter-alternator technology. The first-ever tech fuses the starter motor and an alternator in a single, highly powerful motor unit that fits in perfectly with the V8 Engine and the 9G TCT transmission. This novel unit thrusts an extra 22hp of power and 250Nm of torque to the output.

The beast of a machine gets 7 drive modes, including a hyper-vigilant Race Mode that is reserved exclusively for the top-spec. The seven drive modes: Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Individual, Race, Trail, and Sand are all unique and different in themselves. The comfort mode ensures that the SUV ceases all its cylinders to save fuel with its amazing Cylinder Deactivation Technology.

It also gets a prepped-up air suspension system and an active roll-stabilization system that is a testimonial to the 48V Technology. This technology claims to provide better handling by reducing the body roll while cornering and a better driving experience by providing intricate balance on the nasty road bumps that are a major issue of Indian roads. AMG’s electronic rear axle offers limited-slip-differential. Different drive modes control the stability and performance grade of the vehicle.

On the Skin: Bespoke Design with Performance-Style Design Elements

The GLE 63 S Coupe is designed to resonate with its siblings in the AMG GLE line with tweaks. It flaunts a stunning front grille and a revamped front end with the front splitter staked out in silver chrome plating. A redesigned rear apron, black diffuser, gaping black air intakes, silver chrome polished trim strip and an AMG Special performance exhaust system make everything better.

The bonnet can be seen adorned with chrome-finished ‘Panaremica Grille’ and ‘Elevated Powerdomes’ that give the car a poised suave look. Two rectangular twin tailpipe trim elements which are chrome-plated and highly glossed enhance the look of the Mercedes’ new launch. Adding to the long list of beautiful design elements are the stunning sloping roofline with a steep windscreen and rear window rake to add to the depth. Also, the 22-inch alloy wheels on which the vehicle runs gives it a heavy and muscular look.

The AMG GLE 63S Coupe’s cabin bears an uncanny resemblance to the standard GLE Models. The dominating twin 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system plus instrument cluster prep things up on the inside. A raised console with integrated grab handles adorns the cabin center.

The AMG-particular elements like the three-spoke full Dinamica micro-fiber steering wheel, AMG-special Nappa leatherette seats, aluminium shift panels, and AMG badges over the entire cabin screams class. Mercedes offers customized trim elements with different variants for that personalized feel. Buyers can opt for AMG Trim elements in carbon fibre as well.


The Mercedes AMG GLE 63 S Coupe is expected to lock horns with the likes of Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Cayenne Turbo, and the Audi RS Q8 in India.
