Mercedes AMG GT 63S 4Matic is a 4-door coupe which is customizable and stands as the world’s fastest series production four-seater.
Mercedes-Benz India launched the AMG GT 63S 4Matic 4-Door Coupe in India at the Auto Expo 2020. Priced at a whopping Rs 2.42 crore, it can be accelerated to a top speed of 315 km/hr. Claimed to be the world’s fastest series production 4-seater, the AMG GT 63S 4Matic Coupe will compete with Maserati Quattroporte and the Porsche Panamera Turbo in the ultra-high performance four-door car segment. The AMG coupe is claimed can hit the 100 kph mark from nothing in just 3.2 seconds. The luxury speedster was launched in the presence of Martin Schwenk, MD & CEO Mercedes-Benz India and Matthias Luehrs, Mercedes-Benz Cars, Head Overseas.

Mercedes AMG GT 63S 4Matic 4-door coupe is presented with a mammoth 4.0L, twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that is enough to blow out a hefty 639 hp of max power and 900 Nm of peak torque value. Paired with a butter smooth 9-speed AT transmission it supplies the power to all four wheels through its efficient 4Matic AWD mechanism.

The latest AMG GT iteration of the coupe shares several aspects with the AMG GT sportscar sibling. It gets many design cues borrowed along with the nose and tail design inspired from the two-door sportscar. Its aggressive butch fascia gets AMG’s slatted Panamericana grille.
The inside of luxury cabin sees nearly all the top-notch equipment found on the modern Mercedes performance cars. Some of the highlights in the Mercedes AMG GT 63S 4Matic 4-door coupe comprise of a twin 12.3-inch screen setup for instrumentation and infotainment with MBUX, a new steering wheel design, and a touchpad on the centre console, and many more.
More Mercedes cars’ unveils at Expo
Apart from the latest AMG model, other unveiling from the German luxury carmaker includes the Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine and an all-new Mercedes-Benz GLA SUV. The A-Class Limousine (2.0L turbocharged petrol, 185 bhp) will be launched in June 2020, while the GLA SUV (1.3L turbo-petrol, 161 bhp approx.) expects October 2020 launch in India.
On the unveiling of A-Class sedan, Martin Schwenk (MD & CEO Mercedes-Benz India) said, “The introduction of the A-Class Limousine is a strategic decision that will further enhance our strong sedan segment and win new customers.
We are confident the introduction of the A-Class Limousine will further reinforce Mercedes-Benz’s strong presence in the luxury car market in India and give us an edge,” he added.
Moving forward, on the electric front, Mercedes-Benz India showcased EQC, which will be German carmakers inaugural electric offering for India.
Slated for an April 2020 launch in India, Mercedes-Benz EQC can go up to nearly 470km range in a single charge. Powered by two electric motors it outpours a healthy 408 PS and 760 Nm of power and torque respectively.
Some of its class-leading luxury features include MBUX infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Burmester sound system, digital cluster, sunroof, connected car technology, ambient lighting, cruise control, and numerous advanced safety tech.
Mercedes claims the EQC can touch the 100 kmph mark in only 5.1 seconds. Moreover, with its fast charging support it can be charged from 10-80 per cent in 40 minutes.
Upon its launch it will compete with the upcoming Audi e-tron and the Jaguar i-PACE, and will be priced in the proximity of Rs 1 crore for the base model.
