MG Hector Plus Must Know Facts Launch on July 13

Morris Garages India is all set to launch the six-seat avatar of the regular Hector, the Hector Plus on July 13. Bookings have already commenced for the same at an upfront payment of Rs 50,000. First revealed at this year’s Auto Expo, the six-seat SUV is based on the stock Hector with subtle tweaks to its exterior and additional row.

Let’s have a look at details which should be known before the cat is out of the bag.

How is the seating arrangement?

MG has taken the premium route by bestowing the Hector with captain seats, which means each passenger will have his own seat. It would be a 2+2+2 seating arrangement. In the near future, the automaker plans to introduce a seven-seat version of the Hector which would see middle row bench in place of captain seats.

What are the engine options?

The MG Hector Plus will feature the same engine options as its five-seat version except for the non-hybrid petrol-manual engine. It will get a 2.0-litre diesel producing max power of 170bhp and 350Nm. Moreover, there will be two petrol engines – 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre 48V petrol with mild-hybrid. The diesel and mild-hybrid petrol are mated to a 6-speed manual whereas the turbo motor is paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

How many variants would be there?

MG Hector Plus will be available in 3 variants – Super, Smart and Sharp. The base trim, Super will be available only with a diesel engine while the middle Smart one can be had with any petrol engine. The top-spec, Sharp trim is available with all three engine choices.

What are the key features of the MG Hector Plus?

The fully-loaded Sharp variant gets LED headlamps with LED DRLs, LED fog lamps (front and rear), LED tail lamps, 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, 8-colour ambient lighting, a 7-inch MID, Infinity audio system, heated ORVMs, electric boot opening and 16-inch dual-tone alloys. It will also feature a 10.4-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.

MG Hector Plus will compete with Mahindra XUV 500, Toyota Innova Crysta and upcoming Tata Gravitas.
