- Audi India commenced bookings for the 2021 Q5 facelift on Tuesday.
- The pre-launch reservations can be made at Audi dealerships across the country as well as online.
- The new SUV will be available in two trims – Premium Plus and Technology.
Ever since, Audi discontinued Q3, Q5 and Q7 series in India due to BS6 emission laws, the facelifted 2021 Q5 became the most anticipated catalyst to boost and retain Audi’s market sales and popularity in the Indian market. The new Audi Q5 comes with the combination of the sportiness of an Audi Avant with a multifaceted character, a highly versatile interior and high everyday usability.
“Today, we open bookings for our strong addition to Audi’s successful Q family in India — the Audi Q5. This will be our ninth product launch for 2021 and we couldn’t be happier about our progress for the year,” Audi India Head Balbir Singh Dhillon commented on opening reservations for the Audi Q5 facelift.
“The new Audi Q5 is a perfect blend of features, comfort and practicality in its segment. With its new design that captivates at first glance, we are confident that it will continue to retain its leadership position in the segment and woo the existing and prospective customers,” he added.
Exteriors of Audi Q5
Exteriors have sharper, dynamic lines and a new chrome finished octagonal single-frame grille emphasizes the strong appearance of the vehicle. Apart from that, a revised front bumper, new fog lamps, dual exhaust tips at the back and adjusted LED taillights add to its look. Sharp character lines on the hood and profile give Audi Q5 a more muscular outward form. It also gets a new S-design, 19-inch alloy wheels.
The luxury SUV is definitely promising on all fronts with impressive visual updates and technical features. Audi offers Q5 in two new trims – Premium Plus and Technology.
The high spec trim will have, inside the Q5, a bigger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display with a new MIB3 platform. All regular connectivity functions, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, are present, along with linked car technology with Amazon Alexa integration. In addition, it will also come with piano black inserts, Virtual Cockpit Plus (digital instrument cluster), wireless charger, MMI Navigation Plus with touch, a B&O Premium 3D Sound System and Audi’s Park assist.
Safety features will include eight airbags, including rear-side airbags, ABS with EBD and traction control.
Engine and Gearbox
Under the hood, Q5 comes with a 2.0-litre TFSI engine with a 12v mild-hybrid system and mated to a seven-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission. The SUV gets a permanent Quattro all-wheel drive, Audi’s Drive select and suspension with damping control. Furthermore, the 2021 Q5 will not get a diesel variant like its predecessor.
