Audi has teased the arrival of the new Audi RS5 Sportback which is scheduled to be launched in India on 9th August. It will get some cosmetic updates and feature additions. The sports saloon will be placed between the S5 Sportback and the RS7 Sportback.
Let’s look at some highlights of the new Audi RS5 Sportback.
The RS5 Sportback is expected to get some cosmetic enhancements. The long-contoured bonnet flows cohesively into the signature Audi grille with a honeycomb pattern. The Matrix LED headlights along with the redesigned bumper, makes it look more aggressive and stylish. On the sides are the new sill trims and 19-inch alloy wheels that can be upgraded to larger 20-inch wheels. The rear again looks aggressive with a lip spoiler on the boot. The bumper is highlighted by the oval-shaped twin exhaust tips and is now finished in chrome. The taillights look beautiful with a revamped graphic design.
The interior poses a black and grey theme staying true to the sporty and aggressive theme. The 10.1-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system is now powered by the latest MIB3. The interior will get RS-spec sport seats, steering wheel and RS logo embedded in the armrest and seats. It will also get a combination of leather and Alcantara for that luxurious touch.
The powertrain is anticipated to be same as before. The biggest change that could be offered this time will be the four-door Sportback body style, unlike the two-door Coupé that was introduced in 2018. Under the hood, the RS5 will get the familiar 2.9-litre V6 bi-turbo TFSI petrol engine which churns out 444 bhp and 600 Nm of torque. The motor will be mated to an 8-speed gearbox distributing power through an all-wheel-drive system. The RS5 bolts from zero to 100kmph in 3.9 seconds further speeding to a top speed of 250kmph.
