Land Rover has launched the new Discovery with some style updates and enhanced driving experience. Let’s find out what this luxury SUV has got.
Land Rover announced the launch of their all-new Land Rover Discovery with a few updates which consist of improved design elements, updated interior with a re-designed second-row, enhanced infotainment system and the new straight-six Ingenium engines in petrol as well as diesel. The price of the new Discovery is Rs. 88.06 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Indian market.
The Discovery has always been a prosperous name in the Land Rover lineup and the latest update seeks to take the legacy of the automotive giant to greater heights. “The new Discovery, while retaining Land Rover’s legendary breadth of capability, offers renewed levels of refinement, luxury and efficiency which make it the best full-size SUV for the outdoors and adventure-filled journeys with the family,” said Rohit Suri, President and Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover India.
There are slight exterior enhancements which make the new Land Rover Discovery look fresher and modern on the outside. There are a set of new LED headlights with DRLs with a re-designed bumper which get a wider body-coloured graphic and new side vents. There is a gloss black panel at the rear which joins the new LED taillights smartly.
There are some changes and updates in the cabin of the new Land Rover Discovery. Intelligent Seat Fold technology allows customers to choose the layout inside the new Discovery by making use of the functionality on the main 11.4-inch infotainment unit. This screen has been re-worked completely and is now 48% larger than before. Land Rover’s SOTA technology allows owners to update as many as 44 individual electronic modules.
Some other features include Cabin Air Ionisation, now available with PM2.5 air filtration system, click and go tablet holders which are incorporated into the front seatbacks and have USB-A charging slots. There is also a 12.3-inch Driver Display which boasts of high-definition 3D mapping within the instrumentation.
The automotive giant is promising better efficiency, refinement and performance from the new Ingenium powertrain options.

The car maker states that the new Discovery gets an advanced driveline which optimizes the torque split between front and rear axles, using a range of sensors to distribute torque to suit the conditions. In addition, the car maker has said that the new Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system maximizes traction, on-road dynamics and driveline efficiency, resulting in improved fuel economy and reduced CO2 emissions in normal driving. This is without an adverse impact on Discovery’s all-terrain capability.
