Maruti Baleno

Maruti Suzuki Baleno is an entry-level premium hatchback that got launched in 2015 by Maruti Suzuki. Since its inception, it has captured the mid-range Indian auto market and people’s hearts. The new car has got tinkers, bells, and whistles and we couldn’t be more excited. Here is everything you need to know about the infamous Maruti Suzuki Baleno and its updated avatar.

Dualjet Engine, Hybrid Tech, and Better Mileage

The above three words describe the powertrain of Baleno accurately. Fitted with 3 engine options that include both diesel and petrol options, Baleno offers 61% better mileage than other hatchbacks, as per ARAI. Both diesel and petrol engines are coupled with a default five-speed manual transmission, the petrol engine gets a CVT option as a plus one. The powertrain details are below.

Fuel Option Transmission Mileage
Petrol Manual 21.4 Km/l
Petrol Automatic 21.4 Km/l
Diesel Manual 27.4 Km/l

It’s worth mentioning here that the petrol engine is a 1.2-litre Dual-jet engine with mild-hybrid tech that churns out 84bhp power and 140Nm torque. Meanwhile, the diesel option gets a 1.3-litre mild-hybrid engine that can generate 75bhp power and 190Nm torque. Maruti Baleno has a Fuel Tank Capacity of 37.0 L.

Revised, Modified, and Improved on the Outside

Maruti Baleno Front Bumper Look

Baleno gets tweaks on the shell with a revised bumper design with a sturdy chrome strip. It’s stretched to absorb the wider air-dam and air ducts on each side. The new wider-looking Grille flaunts an intricate 3D detailing that includes a smart silver stripe that extends into the chrome stripe on the grille. Moreover, the entire body gets a C-shaped profile.

A thing worth noticing about the new beast is the trademark Maruti semblance it bears that brings it closer to its peers. Getting rather conservative on the front-end, Baleno gets Maruti’s new liquid flow that is an appealing factor. It lends soft lines and smooth corners to the vehicle everywhere.

Maruti Baleno LED DRLs

The top-variant flaunts stunning projector highlights complete with LED DRLs. The new model gets alloy wheels but only the top model gets to show off the fancier 16-inch Alloy wheels. The rest of the specs have to settle for the mediocre 15-inch steel wheels.  The top-trims also enjoy the luxury of getting a sporty roof spoiler.
