With the fast-moving shift towards EVs, Tata Motors has unveiled and added another EV to their rooster, the all-new Tata Tigor EV. Tata Motors has had tremendous success with the Nexon EV which has nearly captured around 70% of the EV market in India and they intend to do the same with their newest addition. Tata Motors claims that it has been developed on the three pillars of Technology, Comfort and Safety. Bookings for the Tigor EV have commenced at select dealerships starting from Rs 21,000.

Tata Motors use the Ziptron Technology which is an energy-efficient motor and produces flat torque which delivers high performance. The all-new Tigor EV uses a 26kWh battery pack which is capable of making 55 kW and 170 nm of torque and can go from 0-60kmph in 5.7 seconds, offering brisk performance from the word go. It will get the added convenience of a sport mode for enthusiastic people behind the wheel.
The 26kWh battery pack is equipped with liquid-cooled power electronics to extract maximum performance from the package. There is a 7-inch touchscreen powered by HARMAN which gets 4 speakers and 4 tweeters providing best-in-segment infotainment and connectivity. It also gets connected-car tech paired with iRA and is offered with several other features like remote cooling, remote commands, intrusion alert, charging status, time to full charge and remote diagnostics.
The all-new Tata Tigor EV will be featured with a spacious backseat with ample kneeroom and headroom for passengers along with a silent cabin. Also, due to its lower center of gravity and balanced suspension, it offers a comfortable and planted. Other comfort features include electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, push-button start, height-adjustable seats which will aid drivers. The boot space on the Tigor EV is 316-litres which is expandable up to 375-litres. Customers will get a portable charging cable as standard and an option to remove the spare wheel and opt for the tyre-puncture kit.
There are unique software strategies that have been tested over millions of kilometres and are deployed by the Tigor EV to extract maximum energy from the battery pack. The Tigor EV also gets industry-leading low rolling resistance tyres with 10% lower rolling losses. The globally acceptable CCS2 charging protocol is compatible with the Tigor EV and can also be charged from any 15 A plug point. It will only take about an hour to fast charge from 0-80% and about 8.5 hours when using a home charger to do the same.

Tigor EV gets standard safety features which include ABS with EBD, dual airbags, corner stability control, hill ascent assist and hill descent assist and it cannot be overlooked that it is already predicated on a proven platform with Rear Crash compatible structure and complies with ODB 64 test standards.
The electric technology used by Tata Motors (Ziptron) has been driven over millions of kilometres and has been tested in real-world conditions. To make it weatherproof, it gets a IP67 rated battery pack which will give you a worriless drive.
