Automobile demand in India has not gone down despite the chip shortage crisis and the ever-increasing prices of vehicles. This year’s November report shows us exactly that how Maruti Suzuki leads the chart with it comprising of almost 70% of the top-selling cars in the country.

Here’s a detailed list of the cars that have out-performed the others in their sales this month.
1. Maruti Suzuki WagonR
On the top of the list sits WagonR, India’s currently favourite hatchback. WagonR to nobody’s astonishment sold the highest number of units this November – 16,853 units. This best-selling cab serves as a practical vehicle with great cabin space and fuel efficiency. The option for factory-fitted CNG also helps WagonR gain popularity amongst the car buyers in India.
2. Maruti Suzuki Swift
It is no surprise to see Swift on this list with its sale of 14,568 units in November of 2021. Since its launch, Swift has been performing consistently well and remains on this list without any downfall. Swift is by far the most trusted and favoured car in the Indian market for almost a decade.
3. Maruti Suzuki Alto
Alto is the quintessential Indian family car. Probably the second most sold Maruti car after Maruti’s 800, Alto is small and perfect for the typical middle-class Indian family. The other big reason for Alto’s popularity in its segment is its very high resale value compared to its rivals. Alto sold a whole of 13,812 units in November 2021.
4. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza
With its high safety rating and the level of comfort, convenience and equipment offered for a price that is well under Rs 10 Lakhs, Brezza remains one of the most affordable cars in the country. A total of 10,760 units of Brezza were sold during November 2021 and it is amongst the top 5 cars sold in India in November 2021.
5. Hyundai Creta
Hyundai’s 7-seater Creta is a mid-size SUV that sold 10,300 units in November. A champion in its segment, Creta’s success is owed to the premium features it offers, like the panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, airbags along with a wide range of variants (total 19 variants are on offer).
6. Maruti Suzuki Baleno
As a premium 5-seater hatchback available in 9 variants and 2 transmission options, Baleno is in direct competition with the likes of Hyundai i20 and Toyota Glanza. A total of 9,931 units of Baleno were sold in November 2022. A price under 10 lakhs for its best-in-class comfort and excellent cabin space are some of the reasons for Baleno’s popularity in the Indian market.
7. Tata Nexon
Running very close to Baleno with 9,831 sold units in November 2021, Nexon is the 7th most sold car in the country for the month. Nexon is also one of the few Indian cars to have secured a full 5-star rating in the GNCAP crash test. Available with petrol and diesel engines and 2 transmission options, this small-sized SUV comes with three different modes of driving along with next-level upgrades in design, technology and performance.
8. Maruti Suzuki Eeco
The Eeco van is not the most popular vehicle in the market, yet it’s still the only decent van available right now. Mostly bought for commercial purposes, the van has sold around 9,572 units last month.
9. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
In its segment, Ertiga is the most affordable MPV with diesel and petrol engines, great fuel efficiency, and an optional factory-fitted CNG kit and in 7 different variants. It sold 8,752 units this November as it’s more economical for buyers.
10. Kia Seltos
The 2021 Seltos launched at Rs 10 Lakh ex-showroom in 18 different variants with a number of updated features and new transmission options. Seltos isn’t just Kia’s best-selling car; it’s the best-selling SUV in the country. Seltos beat the company’s previous sales records with its consistent performance and popularity in the market. Seltos in November successfully sold 8,659 units and is in 10th place in the list.
