Renault Kiger SUV Unveiled in India

The France-based carmaker has unveiled the production model of the eagerly awaited Renault Kiger SUV. The unveiling of the Renault SUV in the country also marks the global debut of the Kiger. The B-segment SUV is expected to see the launch around March this year. Based on the CMF-A architecture, the Kiger will be powered by a 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine and 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine.

The gearbox choices will include a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT and CVT. Renault Kiger will rival the likes of Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and others in its segment. The promising sub-4-metre SUV is expected to be priced between Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

In terms of dimensions, the Renault SUV looks akin to recently launched Nissan Magnite SUV. Kiger comes with upright posture and displays sturdy character from the front. Its split-headlamp seems identical to the ongoing Kwid hatchback, however with several eye-catching detailing. The three-section full LED headlamps along with the Renault grille and signature chrome-ridden logo appears bold. Moreover, the prominent lower air vents, sculpted hood and heavy wheel arch cladding provide it with a butch stance.

The top of the line trims will receive 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The roof rails further enhance the appeal of the Kiger. Further, at the rear, the sloping rear windscreen concludes near the concave boot lid. The artistically shaped tail lamps with LED boast 3D effect.

The inside of the Kiger is kept minimal with flashy bits around and is more inclined towards practicality and space. The dashboard gets two-tone element and a floating 8-inch touch display in the centre, while the centre gets gloss black treatment. The company claims best in class legroom and elbowroom in the second row seats. The boot space of Kiger stretches to a huge 400+ litres.

Some of the features in the equipment list of the Kiger will include climate control, multi-drive modes, Arkamys 8-speaker audio, wireless charging, wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay, backlit steering controls, ambient lighting and PM 2.5 air filter.
