MG Motor India has launched a new 7-seater Savvy variant of their Gloster SUV with an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) and four-wheel drive. This newly launched variant is available at a price of Rs 37.28 lakh (ex-showroom). Savvy trims were previously only available in a six-seat configuration. Prices for both the six-seater and seven-seater variants of the Savvy trim remain the same at Rs 37.28 lakh (ex-showroom). In addition, both 6 and 7 seater variants of the Sharp trim share the same price of 35.78 lakhs (ex-showroom).

There are various trim options offered for the Gloster, which include Super, Smart, Sharp, and Savvy. Only the Super and Sharp trim were available in both 6 and 7 seater layouts until recently. Gloster’s Savvy trim is a new take on the compact SUV launched in India in 2020. It has seven-seat options.

MG is offering the Gloster Savvy with a seven-seater configuration to meet customer requests, said MG Motor India’s Commercial Director. Gloster Savvy’s addition of a 6-seater configuration gives customers the freedom to choose a vehicle according to their preferences and quality to meet their needs.

As part of the Savvy family of MG Glosters, a 7-seater version of the car is now available for the same price as the 6-seater version – Rs 37.28 lakh. Thus, both turbo engines, Sharp and Savvy trims offer six and seven seats, while Super and Smart trims also pack in with seven and six seats, respectively.

The exterior design of the Gloster Savvy seven-seater is the same as that of the six-seater. There have only been changes to the seating arrangement. This model has the same features as the previous model. As far as the mechanical side is concerned, there have been no changes.

Inside the cabin, Gloster gets a ton of features including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, tyre pressure monitoring system, remote engine and AC start/stop, automatic LED headlamps, cornering lamps, wireless charging, parking assist, panoramic sunroof, powered and heated front seats, and tri-zone AC.

The ADAS includes a range of safety features that assists the driver with various functions. There are several technologies available for drivers to choose from, such as adaptive cruise control, 360-degree cameras, automatic parking assistants, forward collision warnings, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot detection, and lane-departure warnings.

The same 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel motor works under the hood of this seven-seater variant. There is a power output of 218 PS and torque of 480 Nm with this engine. Seven driving modes are available for this SUV – Snow, Sand, Mud, Rock, Sport, Eco and Auto. It comes with an automatic transmission with eight speeds.

MG Shield is part of the Savvy trim for Gloster’s seven-seater version. Three years or one lakh kilometres of warranty, three years of roadside assistance, and three labour-free services are included. There are also more than 200 options for customization.

Thus, in the price range of Rs 29.98 lakh to Rs 37.28 lakh, Gloster is competitive with Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-X, Mahindra Alturas G4 and Ford Endeavour, as well as the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace.
