Skoda Kushaq’s prices start at Rs 10.49 lakh (Ex-showroom, India) and go up to Rs 17.59 lakh (Ex-showroom, India). Skoda Kushaq has entered the territory of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos and it will be interesting to see how these mid-size SUVs maintain their own league.

Hyundai Creta is the topmost competitor of Skoda Kushaq. It is priced in the range of Rs 9.99 – Rs 17.70 lakh (Ex-showroom, India). On the other hand, Kia Seltos is giving some tough rivalry to Skoda Kushaq in terms of features and is priced in the range of Rs 9.95 lakh – Rs 17.65 lakh (Ex-showroom, India). Skoda will offer the Kushaq midsize SUV in three variants. These are Active, Ambition and Style. There are six variants of the Hyundai Creta: E, EX, and S, as well as SX Executive, SX, and SX (O). Kia Seltos, on the other side, is available in two broad lines: GT Line and Tech Line. There are seven sub-variants that start with HTE and go up to GTX+.

Skoda Kushaq manages to include many safety updates and cosmetic features to keep customers happy. This includes LED projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights. Kushaq’s cabin also gets six speakers, six paddle shifters, ambient lighting, 17-inch Atlas dual-tone alloy wheels, and ventilated front seats, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, touchscreen climatronic AC, wireless charger, ABS, EBD, an electric sunroof, and six airbags. Comparatively, the Hyundai Creta, as well as Kia Seltos, are packed with tons of features.

Hyundai Creta comes with multi-reflector LED headlamps and LED daytime running lamps, 8-way power-adjustable driver seats, ambient lighting, six airbags, a built-in air purifier, ventilated seats, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and more.

Engine and Specifications

There are two engine options for the Skoda Kushaq: a 1.0-litre TSP petrol which churns out 115PS of maximum power and 175Nm of peak torque, and a 1.5-litre TSP petrol which generates 150PS of maximum power, 250Nm of peak torque. Both engines come standard with a 6-speed MT transmission. The 1.0-litre engine comes with an optional 6-speed AT torque converter. The 1.5-litre engine has an optional 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

Both Hyundai Creta as well as Kia Seltos offer the same engine options: a 1.4-litre Turbo GDi petrol which generates 140PS maximum power and 242Nm peak torque, a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine which produces 115PS of maximum power and 144Nm of peak torque and the third one is a 1.5-litre diesel which generates 155PS of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque.

Hyundai Creta Transmission 

There are three transmission options for the Hyundai Creta: 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox mated with the 1.4L Turbo-GDi petrol engine; 6-speed MT or IVT automatic mated with the 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a 6-speed MT, and 6-speed AT torque converter with a 1.5-litre diesel engine

Kia Seltos Transmission

Kia Seltos is mated to a six-speed MT and seven-speed DCT with the 1.4-litre Turbo-GDi petrol engine, while the 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine is mated to a six-speed MT, six-speed iMT, and IVT. Kia Seltos‘ 1.5-litre diesel engine option gets paired to a 6-speed MT along with a 6-speed AT torque converter.

Skoda Kushaq measures 4,225 mm in length and 1,760 mm in width. At 1,612 mm, it also has the lowest height. Skoda Kushaq’s wheelbase is 2,651 mm, making it the longest of the three cars.

Skoda Kushaq has 188 mm of ground clearance. This is 2mm less than the other SUVs. The boot storage capacity is 385 litres, making it the most compact SUV. With the rear seats folded down, the storage space can be increased to 1,405 L.

The longest, broadest and tallest SUV is the Kia Seltos. It measures 4,315 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,645 mm in height. Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos share the same boot space of 433-litres each.

There are five color options for Skoda Kushaq. These include Honey Orange, Tornado Red, Candy White, Reflex Silver, and Carbon Steel. The cabin is painted in a dual-tone black and grey theme.

Hyundai Creta is available in nine exterior colors. These include Red Mulberry, Polar White, Deep Forest, Lava Oranges, Typhoon Silvers, Lava Oranges, Typhoon Silver, Phantom Blacks, and Titan Gray. You also have two dual-tone options. There are two options: Polar White with Phantom Black or Lava Orange and Phantom Black. Hyundai Ceta has two color options for the cabin. These are Black with Orange and Black with Greige.

Kia Seltos comes in 12 exterior color options, five of which are dual-tone themes. There are seven single colors available: Intense Red, Glacier White Pearl, Steel Silver, Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, Intelligence Blue, and Punchy Orange. There are five dual-tone options: White Pearl with Black, Orange with White, White Pearl and Orange with White, Red with Black and Silver with Orange. Kia Seltos SUV’s cabin gets a sporty all-black theme.
