The Czech car manufacturer, Skoda has introduced the most powerful version of its Octavia yet in India, the Octavia vRS245 at Rs 36 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The current generation of the Skoda sedan hasn’t been updated with the BS6 compliant engine and thus, would be phasing out soon. Moreover, the vRS245 is a limited edition model with only 200 units to be sold. It costs Rs 12.4 lakh over the top-spec petrol version of the Octavia.

The highlight of the Skoda Octavia RS245 is, of course, the powerful motor – 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol. The potent machine produces excellent power of 245PS and a massive torque of 370Nm. A seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox is paired with this engine.

Offered in a single version, the Skoda Octavia vRS is based on the top-end trim of the regular Octavia. Featuring all the bells and whistles of the Skoda sedan, it gets sportier elements to differentiate it from the stock car. The cabin gets all-black upholstery with red inserts breaking the monotony. Other elements screaming performance include flat-bottom steering, sportier seats and vRS badges across the cabin. Lastly, the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster ensures you get a feeling of driving a race car.

Differentiating it from the stock Octavia on the exterior front are the spoiler, dual exhaust tips, vRS badges at the front and rear and 18-inch sportier alloy wheels.

Inside, the Skoda Octavia vRS comes packed with 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, power-adjustable driver’s seat, hands-free parking and dual-zone climate control.

The smart pricing puts it in a no competition zone as its possible competitors – Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class – are tagged at much higher prices.
