Slavia To Replace Rapid Sedan in Skoda Auto India Lineup

“After ten years of manufacturing, Skoda Auto India has confirmed the retirement of the Skoda Rapid Small Sedan. The announcement was made on Twitter by Zac Hollis, the company’s Director of Sales and Marketing”, in response to a tweet.

Reason for Replacement

Skoda is abandoning the Rapid in part because the firm aims to launch two new sedans in the next two years, the most recent of which is the Skoda Slavia, which will go on sale on November 18. The Skoda Slavia will very certainly be a more premium version of the Skoda Rapid, featuring two TSI engines and a host of safety features.

  • The Rapid Matte model, which features a Carbon Steel Matte exterior and a Tellur Grey interior was recently launched. The Skoda Rapid Matte Edition has Black leatherette and Alcantara trim within the interior.

Skoda Rapid has attracted 100,000 buyers in the country so far, according to Zac Hollis, accounting for 10% of the category share this year. Skoda had previously stated that the Rapid sedan would no longer receive new models or facelifts in India.
