Tata Altroz Bags 5-Star Adult Safety Rating at Global NCAP Crash Tests

Tata Altroz is now the second safest passenger car in India, after Tata Nexon. All the variants of Altroz will be ‘5-star secured’.

Tata Altroz, the premium hatchback, slated for launch on 22nd January, has created a big buzz ahead of its arrival. The Altroz premium hatchback has secured a ‘5-Star Adult Safety Rating’ at the Global NCAP crash tests.

Earlier, in December 2018, it was Tata Nexon conferred with the same distinction and now, it is Altroz that has brought a proud moment for Tata Motors. With the 5-star adult safety rating, Altroz not only becomes the second vehicle from Tata Motors to achieve this, but it also stands as the second passenger car in the Indian auto industry to achieve this remarkable distinction.

Commenting on this notable achievement, Mr Mayank Pareek, President of Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors said that the company is proud to have delivered another exemplary product that will be considered as the safest passenger car on the Indian roads. He added that the Nexon has been the guiding light for the company in bringing the safety concentrated cars and the Altroz also comes with similar capabilities.  

Both, the government, as well as the industry, have been focusing high on road safety and Tata Motors is now fully in sync with the expectations by making cars that are both elegant and safe. Tata Motors is committed to its ‘Safe Bharat’ mission by developing innovative mobility solutions, in personal and mass transportation.     

Mr Rajendra Petkar, President and Chief Technology Officer, Tata Motors, also commented on this milestone. He stated that the company is delighted to have another car — the Tata Altoz, that sets new safety standards across the auto industry. He also applauded the hard work of Tata’s engineers and the supporting teams to conceptualize and build this safety marvel.   

Tata Altroz Safety Features

At the Global NCAP crash tests, Altroz’s structure and overall safety were evaluated. The crash tests were done both from the front and side profiles to gauge the impact results. Both the tests, in a combined evaluation, resulted in a complete 5-star rating. Added to this, Tata Altroz has also achieved a 3-star safety rating for child occupant safety.

Next month, at the Auto Expo 2020, Tata will continue celebrate this achievement by keeping safety as the critical aspect for the company’s theme.
