Tata Launches Dark Edtions

Tata Motors has extended its ‘Dark Edition’ range for its popular cars, which include Tata Altroz, Tata Nexon, and Tata Nexon EV. Tata has also modified Tata Harrier’s Dark Edition with minor aesthetic tweaks. The automobile giant took this decision after the big success of Tata Harrier’s dark edition, which was launched in 2019. Tata says that it has decided to extend the premium quotient in some of its other offerings like Altroz and Nexon.

Dark Edition Prices

The company in its statement disclosed the ex-showroom prices of the new Tata models. Let’s take a look at the price chart:

  • Tata Altroz Dark – Rs 8.71 lakh
  • Tata Nexon Dark – Rs 10.40 lakh
  • Tata Nexon EV Dark – Rs 15.99 lakh
  • Tata Harrier Dark – Rs 18.04 lakh

The ‘DARK Edition’ name is quite self-explanatory. The interiors of the new car will be completely black, matching the exteriors. The new vehicles will be getting dark alloys as well. Let’s talk about their detailed specifications now.

Tata Altroz Dark Edition

Altroz Dark Edition Launched

Altroz Dark is the premium, top-of-the-line variant that will be available in the top variant XZ+ for petrol (NA and iTurbo). It comes with a Cosmo Black exterior body color and with a dark tint finish on its R16 alloy wheels and a premium dark chrome across the hood. The dark chrome strip around the grille and blacked-out ORVMs complete its ‘Dark knight’ look.

The interiors are themed with Granite black with metallic gloss. Black mid pads and leatherette upholstery with deep blue tri-arrow perforations and a decorative blue stitching. It has the dark mascot on the exterior and the dark embroidery on the front headrest which adds to the theme.

As for the luxury features, the Altroz Dark Edition is based on the top-spec XZ+ variant. It features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, iRA connected car technology, cruise control, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, rear AC vents, a semi-digital instrument cluster, a rear parking camera, two airbags, and automatic AC.

The Tata Altroz Dark is powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine (86PS of maximum power and 113Nm of peak torque) mated to a 5-speed MT. The customers can also opt for a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol mill (110PS of maximum power and 140Nm of peak torque) paired with a 5-speed MT.

Tata Nexon Dark Edition

The Tata Nexon Dark is available in XZ+, XZA+, XZ+(O) and XZA+(O) variants, with both diesel and petrol fuel options. Laced with new Charcoal Black R16 Alloys, Dark mascot, Sonic Silver highlights on the atlas black body with matte granite black cladding to illuminate its exterior.

The Dark Nexon gets an all-black interior package with black tri-arrow dashboard panel, black Leatherette seats with tri-arrow perforations, super-dark embroidery on front headrests and door trims with a tri-arrow theme.

Premium models flaunt premium features too. Adorned with features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, standard estability control, electric sunroof, a digital dot matrix-type instrument cluster, dual front airbags, rear parking camera, and automatic AC.

The Tata Nexon Dark has a couple of engine options – 1.2-litre Revotron turbo-petrol (120PS of maximum power and 170Nm of peak torque) and 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel (110PS of maximum power and 260Nm of peak torque). Both mills are paired either with a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AMT.

Tata Nexon EV Dark Edition

Nexon EV Dark Edition

The Nexon EV Dark theme will be available on the Nexon EV XZ+ and XZ+ LUX variants. These variants are blessed with premium midnight black color with satin black humanity line and beltline on the exteriors. Also, present are ‘dark’ inscription on the fenders and a brand-new Charcoal Grey alloy wheels.

The interiors get a glossy piano black theme for the cabin dashboard, premium dark-themedblack leatherette seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and again, EV-specific blue highlights over the dashboard and stitches on the seats. The car will also get TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System). To top it off, the Nexon EV XZ+ variant will have rear seat central armrest and adjustable rear seat headrests from the XZ+ LUX variant.

Exuding luxury is a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, electronic stability control (standard), electric sunroof, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, regenerative braking, a semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch screen, dual front airbags, rear parking camera, and automatic AC.

The Tata Nexon EV Dark comes with a permanent magnet synchronous motor, which is paired with a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery. The motor makes 129PS of maximum power and 245Nm of peak torque.

Tata Harrier Dark Edition

Harrier Dark Edition

The Tata Harrier Dark Edition which was launched in 2019 has been re-launched with minor enhancements. Harrier #Dark will be available in 3 trims XT+, XZ+ and XZA+.

The exterior is now finished in a different Oberon black shade with a deep-blue tinge, larger R18 Blackstone alloy wheels for the sporty stance, and darkened ‘Harrier’ engraving on the rear quarter glass.

Interiors have received minor tweaks as well. Pitch-black inner environment is in line with the premium luxury car segments and is justified by the ‘Benecke Kaliko’ Leatherette upholstery with special tri-arrow perforations with deep-blue undertone.

The Tata Harrier Dark employs a 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine (170PS of maximum power and 350Nm of peak torque) mated to a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AT torque converter.
