Tata Motors has launched the third special edition, named the Dark Edition, of the Safari SUV. This comes following the previous Adventure Persona and Gold Editions of the SUV. While there are no mechanical updates, Tata has given the Safari attractive cosmetic updates with the black paint scheme on the exteriors and interiors.

The Tata Safari Dark Edition, while being the fifth model from the brand to receive this update, is now positioned below the Tata Safari Gold Edition in the company’s line-up. The body colour of this variant is named Oberon Black similar to that of Tata Harrier Dark Edition. This special edition is not available with the Safari XE, XM, and XT trims.

Prices for the car start at Rs 19.05 lakh (ex-showroom, India), and it is offered with both manual and automatic units. The Dark Edition costs between Rs 20,000 and Rs 72,000 more than the standard Safari depending on the variant.

Tata has further given gloss black accents and de-chromed the grille, door handles, the boot lid garnish, headlight surrounds and window surrounds along with 18-inch alloy wheels. The only chrome visible on this new trim is on the Tata and Dark Edition badges. Additionally, a Dark emblem is fixed on the front benders. These exterior changes are similar to those of the other Dark Editions models of Altroz, Nexon, Nexon EV, and Harrier.
