Leading automaker Tata Motors has announced one-of-a-kind subscription model for its Nexon EV in the country. Company’s flagship EV can now be obtained at an all-inclusive fixed rental price starting from Rs. 41,900 per month. For customer’s convenience there are 3 subscription plans on offer i.e. 18 months (1.5 year), 24 months (2 years) and 36 months (3 years). The rental model is initially launched in 5 major cities, which include Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. For the subscription plans on the Nexon EV, Tata Motors has partnered with Orix Auto Infrastructure Services Ltd.
The lucrative and never heard before rental plans are designed to promote the use of electric vehicles in the country. Under the subscription model Nexon EV XZ+ variant (mid-spec) can be rented for up to 3 years. Once the period of subscription gets over, the customer has two choices – (a) either extend the tenure, (b) return the vehicle to the company. According to the automaker the new subscription model is tailor-made to suit the needs and requirements of the corporate, expatriates and ones with repeated inter-city job transfers.

The Tata Nexon EV is powered by a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a powerful electric motor that generates 129 hp of power and 245 Nm of torque. Its DC fast charger can charge the Nexon EV from 0-80% in mere 60 minutes. However, with common 15A AC charger, it requires around 8-9 hours to charge fully. Tata Nexon EV’s ARAI-verified range stands at mind-boggling 312 km. The class leading e-SUV from Tata Motors was first launched in January 2020 at a starting price of Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
