Tata Punch and Nissan Magnite are two hot-selling SUVs from the brands that have been pushing the sales numbers in recent times. The popularity of SUVs in general and the models’ pricing are two important factors for their popularity among Indian buyers.

Tata Punch is the entry-level SUV available in Tata Motors’ line-up and was launched very recently. Does this make Tata Punch a better buy than its rival Nissan Magnite? To make the decision easier for you, we have done a comparison of the dimensions, features and specifications of both the models here.

Interior Features: Magnite vs Punch

Tata Punch Interior

Tata Punch and Nissan Magnite come loaded with attractive features inside. Although Magnite has a lot of advanced techs, it misses out on some useful features like auto headlamps and rain-sensing wipers. Punch on the other hand with its impressive interiors falls behind with a smaller touchscreen and no wireless connected car tech or wireless charger all of which are available with the Magnite.

If we look at safety, again, Magnite seems to be on top with an extensive list of safety features. However, Punch bagged full five stars in the Global NCAP Crash test and has been proved to be the safest model available on the road in India at the moment. We could call a tie between both models in terms of safety even if Magnite is slightly inching ahead in terms of comfort & convenience.

Tata offers Punch with a more powerful petrol engine when compared to Magnite. The other important fact is that Punch also comes with a choice for AMT that might turn a few more heads towards it.

Nissan Magnite is offered with two engine choices – a naturally aspirated 1.0L petrol engine and a 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine. Of these, the turbocharged petrol engine generates more power than the naturally aspirated 1.2L petrol engine of Punch. This variant of Magnite also offers an option for a CVT gearbox that is slightly better refined than Punch’s AMT.
