Tata Motors has released a teaser video for the new Safari Gold Edition which is set to debut at the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL). This event will be held from 19th September to 15th October in UAE. Moreover, it will be the official partner for the 2021 cricket tournament. The teaser video doesn’t reveal details about the Tata Safari Gold Edition. There is a quote that reads “The Legend Will Take Over”. The VIVO IPL 2021 Dubai will be aired very soon and the Safari’s Gold Edition will certainly enjoy the limelight, however, the timeline for Safari Gold’s launch is unknown as of yet.
In the Tata Safari Gold Edition, we could see the same HighStreet Gold paint scheme used on the premium Altroz hatchback. The special edition is unlikely to receive any other cosmetic or feature upgrades. A turbocharged 2.0L Kryotec diesel engine and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox will remain standard on the SUV. It is powered by an oil burner sourced from the Harrier and produces 170bhp and 350Nm of torque.
Tata Safari went on sale earlier this year. It is competing with MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar and Mahindra XUV700. A total of 16 variants of the SUV are currently available, with prices ranging from Rs 14.99 lakh to Rs 22.01 lakh. There are seven automatic variants in the line-up, which range in price from Rs 17.80 lakh to Rs 22.01 lakh. A Safari Adventure Edition costs approximately Rs 20.58 lakh to Rs 22.01 lakh. The above prices are all ex-showroom.
The Tata Safari Adventure Edition is available in an exclusive shade of Tropical Mist with black grilles, roof rails, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The interior theme of the Adventure Edition is Brown and White, unlike the Black and White theme of the standard model. There are two trim levels: the XZ+ and XZA+, and it’s available with either a manual or automatic transmission.
