Tata Altroz EV
Altroz EV was first introduced as a concept at the Auto Expo Show in the year 2020. The launch is scheduled for the end of this year. Altroz EV has undergone some changes on the outside from the regular model. It gets a newly designed grille, bumpers, star-patterned air-dams, new wheels and the tailgate is blacked out in the EV, unlike regular Altroz.
Tata has not officially announced the powertrain and battery details of the Altroz EV yet. We can expect the company’s Ziptron electric technology to power the Altroz EV. Altroz EV is expected to be priced around Rs 14 Lakh (ex-showroom price).
Tata Curvv EV
Tata Motors launched the Curvv EV, a coupe-style SUV, in India digitally. Curvv is also going to be launched in its ICE version following the EV reveal. Curvv will be based on the Gen 2 architecture and will be powered by a battery pack that can power the EV up to 500 km. The concept version of Curvv EV featured a coupe roofline. The expected price for the Curvv EV can begin at Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom price).
Curvv will also get advanced features like ADAS (automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control). It will rival models like MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric. The production for Curvv EV is set to begin by the year 2024.
Tata Tiago EV
Tata introduced the EV version of Tiago at the 2018 Auto Expo. The launch date has not been announced yet. The design will be more or less similar to that of the ICE Tiago as will be the features. The electric hatchback is also expected to get the Tigor EV’s powertrain and battery pack. It means a range of around 310 km for the Tiago EV as well. Once launched, Tiago EV will become one of the more affordable electric vehicles in India with a starting price of around Rs 8 Lakh.
Tata Sierra EV Concept
Tata Motors revealed the Sierra concept at the Auto Expo in 2020. Sierra concept was introduced with a 4.1-metre long futuristic body based on the ALFA Architecture. This electric SUV is loosely based on Tata Harrier and the interiors also show promise with all cool and exciting advanced features. Sierra concept debuted with very unique design elements and can be expected to be offered with both FWD and AWD drivetrains. Sierra could be a game-changer for Tata Motors in the electric vehicle segment if it goes into production in the next 2 years. The expected starting price for Sierra is Rs 14 Lakh (ex-showroom price).
Tata Avinya EV Concept
Avinya is Tata’s new electric SUV concept based on the Gen 3 architecture. Tata Motors has announced that Avinya will be introduced in the Indian market in 2025. The concept car looks spacious with a long wheelbase to house a larger battery pack.
Tata has named the concept “Avinya” which means “Innovation” in Sanskrit. The concept version is also a screen-less design to ensure distractions and the screen-time of the passengers. Tata aims to build Avinya as a sustainable machine for mobility that utilises energy-efficient equipment and strategies during manufacture and on the road.
Avinya will be powered by a battery that can push the electric SUV to an impressive 500 km range in only under 30 minutes. The SUV is expected to be priced around Rs 30 Lakh (ex-showroom price).
