A study recently published by LeaseLOCO glimpses how fast electric cars few out of showrooms in recent past. And, we thought to feed you with the latest knowledge of best-selling and popular electric cars across the globe.
So, it’s time to gain knowledge about the most selling EVs in the world. Here’s the list!
1. Tesla Model 3
Tesla Model 3 is the fastest-selling EV in the world. The US-based EV maker has sold an average of 2,15,000 Tesla Model 3 car sales every year, Tesla plans to unleash this model in India when it decides to enter the market.
2. Wuling Hong Guang Mini EV
This car offers an exciting range of 300 kms of range in a single charge and is pretty fast and furious when it comes to sales. It is fabricated in and for China. On average, the carmaker sells more than 14 units per hour with an average of 1,29,925 units each year. This mini electric car recently reached a major sales milestone of 4 lakh.
3. Tesla Model Y
This electric car is the second best seller around the world from the company. It sells nearly 11 units every hour. On average, Tesla sells about one lakh units every year. Model Y is available in three variants. Apart from the standard one, there is a long-range version and a performance. The model comes with a range of 455km per change.
4. Nissan Leaf
This electric car is a rival to Tesla Model 3. It is from the Japanese carmaker and its sales are far behind as compared to Tesla Model 3. The leaf is one of the oldest electric car models still existing around the world. The company sells around 10 Leaf EVs every hour, with an annual average sales of 85,988 units.
5. BAIC EU-Series
The Chinese carmakers have bought up this electric sedan. In terms of sales, it ranks fifth on the list with an average of 65,335 units.
6. Volkswagen ID.3
Volkswagen may be tiring to take over Tesla in the EV era. But, it requires doing more play catch-up in terms of sales. Volkswagen ID.3 electric car is the sixth fastest-selling EV model across the globe. The carmaker sells 6 units of the car every hour, and 54,450 units every year on average.
7. SAIC Baoujun E-Series EV
The Chinese EV manufacturer ranks it at number seven. The SAIC group also owns MG Motor. And has joint ventures with Volkswagen and General Motors. It sells around 53,880 units of its Baoujun E-series EV per year on average.
8. Hyundai Kona
Kona is Hyundai’s first electric SUV. It ranks at number eight on the list. Hyundai sells 6 units of EV Kona every hour with an average sales of 52,186 units annually.
9. Audi E-Tron
Audi is a premium luxury brand that features its electric car e-Tron. Audi sells more than five units of e-Tron EV every hour with an average annual sales of 47,330 units. The E-Tron has 4 cars including the standard model, a Sportback edition, a GT, and an RS version. All of these were launched in India too.
10. Renault Zoe
The electric hatchback from the French carmaker completes the list. Renault sells four units every hour with an average sales of 35,600 units each year.
