The debut of Urban Cruiser marked the foray of Toyota in the highly competitive compact SUV segment in India. A product of Suzuki-Toyota alliance, the sub-4-metre SUV features sturdy-looking exteriors that are very well complemented by the spacious cabin and latest equipment-list. Powered by a frugal petrol engine it’s offered in three variants with manual and automatic transmission choices.

The Urban Cruiser is presented in six variants namely Mid, Mid AT, High, High AT, Premium, and Premium AT. The manual transmission driven variants are priced between Rs 8.40-9.80 lakh. Furthermore, the variants sporting automatic transmission fare around Rs 9.80-11.30 lakh.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Engine & Performance

Powered by a sole petrol alternative, the Urban Cruiser gets all-new K-Series 1.5L engine under the hood. This 1462cc motor generates a high power output of 105PS at 6000rpm and peak torque of 138Nm at 4400rpm. The engine is coupled to a choice of 5-speed MT or a 4-speed AT torque converter unit.

The compact dimensions of the Urban Cruiser SUV are welcoming and bold at the same time, especially its frontage. With enough room at rear for three, other convenience aspects include front centre sliding armrest with storage, cooled glove box, rear arm-rest with cup holder, five-colour combi meter illumination and others.
