Toyota Vellfire MPV Launched at an Introductory Price of Rs 79.50 Lakh

Toyota Vellfire, the high-end luxury vehicle features hybrid petrol engine with AWD system and will compete with the Mercedes Benz V-Class.

Toyota has finally unleashed its luxury-on-wheels vehicle, the Vellfire MPV in India. Tagged at a staggering introductory price of Rs 79.50 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India), it is made available in single top-end variant – Executive Lounge. Offered in four paint and two interior choices, Toyota Vellfire luxury MPV comes to India as a CBU (Complete Built Unit) model. Besides a plethora of plush elements, the 3-row vehicle comes with 3-zone climate control, twin sunroof, 13-inch entertainment screen, power-adjust VIP seats for the middle row with leg rests and cooled/heating feature.


Powered by a 2.5L, 4-cylinder petrol powertrain it gets two connected electric motors. The powerful engine generates maximum power and torque values of 115 PS and 198 Nm respectively. Moreover, the motor on each axle outpours peak power of 142 PS and 68 PS individually. For self-charging, the hybrid Vellfire MPV runs on a battery with 60:40 power split, and in the event of battery drain the IC engine takes over the charge. Transmission duties are carried out by an e-CVT gearbox with power going to the front wheels. Toyota Vellfire receives a claimed fuel efficiency figures of 16.35 kmpl.

In terms of looks, with large length and breadth dimensions, its boxy design appears enormous in shape. The glittering front gets massive chrome-stuffed grille and split headlamp design, while the simple-looking side profile also sees some chrome work on the windows. At the back, bold styling comes with huge tail lamp clusters, a beefy chrome bar and wide-opening tailgate. With its overwhelming proportions of 4930 mm (length) and a wheelbase of 3000 mm it qualifies for being one of the largest cars in the Indian automotive arena. The Vellfire rides on 17-inch chrome alloy wheels and offers a ground clearance of 165 mm.

Inside its gigantic cabin, the Toyota luxury MPV is all tailored to offer the most plush and comfortable ride experience. The beige or black upholstery cabin is offered with leather upholstery and wood inserts for a luxurious feel. Out of the three rows, the second row – with two captain seats – have reclining feature, electronic footrest and a fore-aft slide function. The ventilated seats are ideal for all weather conditions, while some convenience aspects on captain seats include cup holders, a roof-mounted digital display screen with HDMI and WiFi connectivity. Moreover, the surround sound aspect in the cabin is taken care by the 17-speaker system from JBL.

Some more premium traits include powered first and second-row seating, multi-zone climate control, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, along with others. Further, safety cordon is looked after by a long list of protection gears that comprise of 7-airbags, vehicle stability control, tyre pressure monitoring, auto-hold, VDIM, hill assist, parking sensors along with a panorama view camera, and many more.
