New Launches in June 2022:

Almost 6 months into the year, we have already seen some great launches this year in the automobile industry. June and July are not going to be any different. We have some excitement coming up for us in the next couple of months. The new launches include hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs from brands like Citroen, Volkswagen, Maruti Suzuki, Kia, Hyundai, etc.

Citroen C3

Citroen C3

Citroen C3 is the first launch we expect in June. It is a crossover with a lot of design elements borrowed from the Citroen C5 Aircross. The powertrain expected in the C3 is a The Stellantis Group is expected to launch the Citroen C3 in June. The crossover car is said to have a 1.2–litre petrol engine that should come along with both manual and automatic transmissions. It is expected to be priced around Rs 5-12 lakh range to rival Tata Punch and Nissan Magnite.

Volkswagen Virtus

Expected to be launched on the 9th of June, Volkswagen Virtus is the second model under the India 2.0 project. The engine choices might include a 1.5L TSI EVO engine with Active Cylinder Technology (ACT) and a 1.0L TSI engine. The gearboxes with these engines will be a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic torque converter or 7-speed DSG transmission option.

VW has also announced its intention of fitting the Virtus with more than 40 safety features which will be the highlight of this model’s launch. The safety features will include 6 airbags, a reverse camera, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), multi-collision brakes, hill-hold control, LED headlamps with LED DRLs, ISOFIX, etc.

Kia EV6

Kia India will enter the electric vehicle sector with its EV6. The first-ever BEV from the South Korean brand will be available only in a limited number post-launch. Bookings will be opened from the 26th of May for the 100 units that will be offered in the Indian market. EV6 will be imported to India as a completely built unit which will mean the price tag will be hefty.

Kia has announced 2 variants the GT Line and GT Line AWD for the EV6. Both variants will be powered by a 77.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that claims a range of more than 500 km. EV6 will be offered in both single and dual motor versions. It will also come with ADAS and other exciting premium features you will see in a model in its segment.

Hyundai Venue Facelift

Hyundai is giving its Venue a mid-cycle facelift which will be launched on June 20 this year. There will be both the standard variant and N-Line variant of the Venue coming out next month. Engine choices on offer will include a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine but we are not yet sure if the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol will be offered with the standard Venue.

The new Venue shall rival the equally new facelifted 2022 Brezza after both their launches next month. Other rivals include Kia SonetTata NexonRenault KigerNissan Magnite, etc.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza 2022

Maruti Suzuki Brezza is getting a facelift this year and the new facelift is coming out next month. Maruti might upgrade Brezza will better safety features like six airbags, TPM and hill-hold assist. K-series 1.5 litre petrol engine will likely power the 2022 Brezza and come mated to 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions.

This facelift also comes christened simply as the Brezza without the Vitara from its former version.

Mahindra Scorpio-N

With so much anticipation accompanying the model’s launch, the new Scorpio N might be the hottest launch next month. Mahindra has already released the official images of this spiritual successor of the most desired SUV in India, the Scorpio.

Scorpio N will be offered with petrol and diesel engine options, along with both manual and automatic transmission options. It will have all-wheel drive option as well to aid the SUV’s off-roading abilities. Mahindra will also offer premium interiors and numerous advanced features – safety and otherwise – with the 2022 Scorpio N.

Audi A8 L 2022

The Audi A8 L gets updates inside out this year. Wider grille, new headlamp and air intake designs along with updated convenience features in the cabin and rear seats, the face lifted Audi A8 L will be much cooler than its previous model. The new model is expected to be priced a bit more than the 1.5 Cr ex-showroom price of the previous version in India.

Here is the list of some more new models that will come out in July 2022.

MG 3 is already available in the UK market and doing well for itself. MG is all set to launch this hatchback in India in a couple months. The current expected launch date is the 1st of July.

When launched, the MG 3 will rival the Hyundai i20, Maruti Baleno, Toyota Glanza and Tata Altroz. It is expected to be priced around Rs 6-8 Lakh ex-showroom price.

Volvo XC40 Recharge

Volvo had planned to launch the XC40 Recharge in India last year but postponed it when COVID-19 hit everyone hard. Now, the launch is set to happen on the 6th of July, 2022 post which the bookings will also be opened. The XC40 Recharge is powered by a 78 kWh battery pack that allows the car a more than 400 km range on a single full charge.

Kia Sportage

With its immense success globally, Sportage will be launched in India this year in July. Sportage was Kia’s most sold model in April, not just in one particular market but all over the world.

Currently, Sportage is being offered with both petrol and diesel engine that will be continued in India also. The fourth generation Sportage is the latest in its lineup with a truckload of the latest features which is what we will be getting here in our domestic market.

Toyota Belta

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is now rebadged and coming to India as the Toyota Belta. It will sport the same design and engine as the Ciaz but will come with some cosmetic changes to make it look different enough from its parent model. It will also be sold with the Toyota badge.

The expected launch date is on 18th July this year and the Belta will be priced around Rs 10 lakh ex-showroom price.
