Volkswagen T-Roc 5 Awesome Features You Must Know

Volkswagen India launched its T-ROC SUV at Rs 19.99 lakh on March 18. The Volkswagen T-ROC sits above the upcoming Taigun SUV but below the newly launched Tiguan AllSpace 7-seater SUV. The five-seater compact SUV measures just over 4.2m. It will be brought in India as a CBU (Completely Buildup Units) and is offered in only a single fully-loaded trim. It appears muscular and solid thanks to the sculpted hood and pronounced wheel arches. The contrasting black roof with rails and faux air intakes at the front make things interesting for the VW T-ROC.

Let’s take you straight to the 5 awesome features that you should know about the new SUV from Volkswagen.

1. Powertrain with Cylinder-deactivation Tech

For India, Volkswagen has decided to launch the T-ROC with only a single, 1.5L turbo-petrol engine. Globally, there are an array of engines on offer with different permutation combinations. This four-cylinder TSI motor puts out 150 PS of massive power at 5000-6000 rpm and 250 Nm of max torque at 1500–3500 rpm. It gets a smart cylinder-deactivation tech, which switches from 4 to 2-cylinder when not required, saving fuel in the meantime. A 7-speed super sleek automatic DSG transmission comes standard with the VW SUV.

2. Proven Underpinning

The Volkswagen T-ROC is based on the famous MQB platform. The lighter platform lends the vehicle impeccable stability on highways even at high speed with no hints of shaking or wiggling. The driving dynamics have highly improved in VW cars since the time the MQB has been employed. The highly versatile chassis underpins cars right from the Polo to Passat and all body styles including hatchback, sedan and SUV.

3. Standout Features

The panoramic sunroof makes the cabin airier with natural light flowing in. When open, it helps you cool the car without the road noise filtering in. The dynamically designed LED headlamps and tail lamps give the Volkswagen T-ROC a bold stance. Moreover, the dual-zone climatronic air conditioning helps you to set two different temperatures on the go. The premium ‘Vienna’ leather seats not only look comforting but also feel luxurious. The Active Info Display (instrument cluster in VW language) lets you check a variety of data, which you can even customize to suit your needs.

4. Safety Net

The Volkswagen T-ROC SUV is one of the safest five-seat SUVs on offer in the country. For all-round safety, it comes with 6 airbags – driver and co-passenger airbag, front side airbags and curtain airbags. The added layering of Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) makes it a safe fortress. To ensure the issues pertaining to tyres – your only contact with the surface – are curtailed, it gets a tyre pressure monitoring system. It alerts you in case the tyres are over or under-inflated and help you increase fuel economy and reduce chances of a tyre blowout.

5. Rocking Colour Options

Volkswagen always offers its cars with sober colours but this time, the German carmaker has added colourful yet elegant splash with T-ROC. The most-affordable VW SUV gets five dual tone shades which include Energetic Orange, Curcuma Yellow, Ravenna Blue, Indium Grey and Pure White. All these colours are offered with contrasting black roofs which give it a youthful appeal. Lastly, a Deep Black Pearl shade is on offer as well.
